Our commitment to child safety

HRCLS is committed to providing services and working environments that not only protect children from harm, but that promote the wellbeing of children. As a service of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC), a community service organisation that supports children and families, our statement of commitment is supported in policy.

UMFC has zero tolerance of child abuse. All children and young people who access UMFC services have the right to feel and be safe, and to be treated with respect. We are committed to promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, culturally and/or linguistically diverse cultural safety, and the safety of children with disability. We are committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment and working towards the best interests of children and young people at all times.

Our child safe policy is available at, About UMFC – Strengthening and caring for families and children since 1979.

Information barrier

HRCLS lawyers are bound by strict ethical obligations to our clients, including a duty of confidentiality. This duty ensures that as a law firm in UMFC’s multidisciplinary organisation, client information cannot be accessed or shared outside of HRCLS.

To uphold this, HRCLS has an Information Barrier Policy in place between HRCLS and UMFC. This policy prevents any transfer or sharing of client information without the client’s informed consent, protecting confidentiality and maintaining trust.

If you would like more information or a copy of the Information Barrier Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
